Congress Working Committee supports Palestine, resolution passed

Before the assembly elections in five states, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had called a meeting of the Congress Working Committee in New Delhi on Monday.  The discussion was to be related to the upcoming elections.  The list of candidates for the elections and other issues were also discussed.  In the meeting, a resolution was finally passed in support of the people of Palestine, it said that Congress reiterates its support towards Palestine for their rights to land, self-governance and self-respect and life.   Congress expressed grief over the attack!   Congress expressed deep sorrow and pain over the people killed in the war between Israel and Palestine.  In the resolution passed in the Working Committee, Congress said it reiterates its long-term support for the rights of the Palestinian people to land, self-governance and life with self-respect and dignity.  The Working Committee calls for an immediate ceasefire and negotiations on all outstanding issues, including unavoidable issues that gave rise to the current conflict.  President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, former President Sonia Gandhi and other senior Congress leaders were present in the meeting.   Congress has been supporting Palestine in the past also  Even before this, Congress has been continuously supporting Palestine, in the month of June 2021, it had criticized India's stand on the ongoing conflict between Palestine and Israel in Gaza and supported Palestine.  A few days ago also, Congress had cornered the Central Government and accused it of giving full support to Israel by going back on the commitments made to Palestine.   Will this issue affect the elections?   The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas can also impact the elections in India. Of course, Congress has announced to support the people of Palestine, but other political parties have not said anything on this issue yet.  In fact, this war is being linked to Muslim sentiments.  The root of this dispute is the wall attached to the Al Aqsa Mosque, which has been claimed by Muslims, Jews and Christians.

Congress has decided to support the people of Palestine regarding the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, a resolution regarding this was passed at the last moment of the working committee meeting called by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi on Monday.  Even before this, Congress has been seen standing in support of Palestine on many occasions.

The political temperature in the country also seems to be rising due to the ongoing war between Israel and the Palestinian extremist organization Hamas. Congress has announced its support to Palestine amid continuous attacks by Israel in the Gaza Strip. A resolution regarding this was also passed at the last moment in the Congress Working Committee meeting on Monday.  Even before this, Congress has openly supported Palestine many times.
