When BBC journalist had to leave home at 2 Am in Gaza

Gaza's only power plant has also run out of fuel, and there is a shortage of medicines and food. Every night hundreds of people take to the streets to escape the intensifying attacks. On Wednesday night at 2 o'clock, my neighbor knocked loudly on my door and when I opened the door, he told me that this building was going to be attacked and to get out of it immediately. I woke up my three children, we took our emergency kit and headed towards the hospital. But when we reached there, hundreds of people were standing at the entry gate – they too had come to stay there overnight and were not able to find a place. Children who were sleeping standing on the streets would wake up from time to time hearing the sound of rockets and start crying. The lives of 23 lakh people in Gaza are at stake, people have no way to leave Gaza. The only power station in Gaza completely stopped working at 2 pm on Wednesday. There is no electricity in Gaza. Here Israel has stopped the supply of essential things like medicine, food and water. Here people are now dependent on generators for electricity but there is no way to import fuel for the generators. The common people here cannot go out now, Israel has closed the border and Egypt has also closed the border in view of the attack. I wanted to get my family out of here because I don't know what the future of Gaza is, but that couldn't happen - it's impossible now.
